Cor Equus ~ latin for the heart of the horse. And it is within the influence of the finely-tuned and sensitive, but all-too-often ignored core of our being that we find our authentic Self. Located in the centre of our being the heart also represents the core of our strength, our power, our passion for life.

At CorEquus we provide an opportunity to unveil personal authenticity by way of the heart-centred energy of our companion over millennia … the horse.

Just a few mindful hours with a horse
can change your life …

dsc_1186.jpgWe look at a horse and we say it is beautiful, but this four-legged heart throb is so much more than this. The horse is a magical mirror ~ a reflection of our inner truth; a messenger of hope; a catalyst for healing. With the horse we find our authenticity and the courage to release from within what no longer serves and bring into focus a life-embracing, more robust way of being.

We think we are stuck, but like the mercurial equine that moves on the wave of emotional information, interpreting his environment with every breath and responding according to his body’s innate wisdom, we are free to move as well. We simply need to re-awaken our capacity to do so.

In our modern world saturated with brain intellect and bereft of an understanding of emotions as information ~ the purview of the heart ~ we have lost access to a deeply held and important hidden wisdom. The horse, still intact with this sentient wisdom, is in a unique position to help us find our back to it; to connect to it once again.

Working with horse wisdom gently brings us back to our own ground zero and helps us to rebuild our lives in a meaningful and powerful way. And, the compelling lessons learned from heartfelt time spent in the healing presence of our equine friends then reflects naturally into so many other areas of our lives.

Life lessons ~ heart lessons ~ learned through the wisdom of the horse.

“The heart is the most powerful generator of rhythmic information patterns in the human body. … With every beat, the heart not only pumps blood, but also transmits complex patterns of neurological, hormonal, pressure and electromagnetic information to the brain and through-out the body. … the heart is uniquely positioned as a powerful entry point into the communication network that connects body, mind, emotions and spirit.”

  1. Hello Dorothy,

I hope all is well with you. How are Bear and Sophie doing? It’s Treshanna Williams, I’m not sure you remember me. I was hired two summers ago as a security guard at your barn. Unfortunately I never had the opportunity to come back and visit as promised; But I haven’t forgotten your hospitality and great conversations. I know you mentioned that you were starting a program for people who have been through trauma, to heal through spending time bonding with horses. How is that coming along? Since I last saw you I quit the security job and went back to school to earn a certificate in Life Coaching from George Brown. I recently received a small grant from the Federal government, which I am using to facilitate a 5 day self-development workshop , that I developed for inner city youth ages 13-25. I would love to catch up with you, maybe I could come up to the barn one day for a visit.

    With warm wishes,

    Treshanna Williams
